Manchester United have made an opening offer for Juventus midfielder Arturo Vidal.
Tuttosport says Juve will not budge from their €50 million valuation for the Chile international, having turned down United's bid of €40 million plus €3 million in bonuses.
United have not been discouraged and will return with an improved proposal of €43 million.
The fallen Premier League giants already have an outline of an agreement with Vidal's camp worth €7 million-a-year.
The midfielder's agent, Fernando Felicevich, is expected in Turin this week to meet with Juve GM Beppe Marotta to take stock of the situation.
