Manchester United are maintaining their pursuit of Palermo defender Simon Kjaer.
The Telegraph says while United have struck a deal for Fulham youngster Chris Smalling, they are also keen on Denmark international Kjaer.
United manager Sir Alex Ferguson is said to be leading the race to sign Palermo defender Kjaer, who is also a confirmed target for Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp.
