Manchester United are plotting a bid for Real Madrid attacker Marco Asensio.

Don Balon says United are planning a January swoop for Asensio.

United boss Jose Mourinho has opted against pursuing his interest in Gareth Bale in favour of a move for Asensio.

The 21-year-old has already made a name for himself at the Bernabeu with a clutch of spectacular goals, but is yet to nail down a starting spot under Zinedine Zidane.

And Mourinho is allegedly willing to take advantage of that by offering him a starring role at Old Trafford.
