Manchester United are prepared to cash in on Nemanja Vidic.
The Mirror says Vidic's expected exit from Manchester United this summer will see Sir Alex Ferguson step up his efforts to secure his replacement.
United will not accept anything less than £25million for Vidic, whose summer departure, given his wife Ana's ongoing unhappiness in Manchester, now looks certain.
Vidic's decision to withdraw from United's FA Cup tie against Leeds last Sunday, after claiming to have been injured in the warm-up, was greeted with dismay by Fergie.
Fergie's withering response when questioned about the supposed injury suggested the United boss was not convinced by the extent of the problem and Vidic's inability to play.
As such, if United can secure the price they want for Vidic and make an £18million profit, it is understood they will let him go and buy a younger replacement for maximum sell-on value.
