Manchester United will rake in a cool £1.5 million from their Nigeria match against Portsmouth.

United will pocket £1.5million for playing Portsmouth in Nigeria in July on the way home from their tour of South Africa, says the Daily Mail.

Chief executive David Gill said: "This isn't the "39th step" by stealth. It's an opportunity for us to allow our fans in Nigeria to see the team in the flesh and also enables us to reach new markets."
