Man Utd pull back from De Gea contract talks

Manchester United have pulled back from new contract talks with David de Gea.

The Sun says United are in no rush to hand David de Gea a mega-money pay hike after Real Madrid cooled their interest this summer.

The 26-year-old has been wanted by the Spanish giants for the last two seasons, including during this window.

The ex-Atletico Madrid ace has two-years left on his current deal, with the option of extending for a further 12-months.

But Zinedine Zidane's side are happy with their stopper Keylor Navas, and will not go back in for De Gea until next summer.

An Old Trafford insider said: “David still has two-years left on his deal and we have the option to extend.

“The club can now take its time and it doesn't need to be rushed. We know David only wanted to go to Real Madrid.

“It will be more a case of now waiting to establish if we think they will try their luck again next year."
