Manchester United and PSG have received fresh encouragement in their pursuit of Barcelona star Neymar.

Contrary to some reports across Europe, Okdiario is reporting that claims of Neymar being close to penning a new deal are wide of the mark.

Indeed, their senior football reporter, Eduardo Inda, says Neymar's father has pulled back totally from negotiations.

"Neymar and his father feel they have not been treated well and the feeling is the club has washed their hands of him over his legal problems," says Inda.

"Neymar's father will not talk with Barcelona until October, he believes that if his son remains in the Barca team he will always be overshadowed by (Leo) Messi and never win the Ballon d'Or."

Neymar's current contract carries a €190 million buyout clause - which United and PSG are willing to match this summer.
