Manchester United are to erect a bronze statue of Sir Alex Ferguson at Old Trafford.
The Manchester Evening News says United have applied for planning permission to put up a statue of Fergie and revealed where it will stand at Old Trafford.
The three-metre tall bronze statue will go on a canopy to be built outside the North Stand - now the Sir Alex Ferguson Stand.
United announced last year that they had commissioned Philip Jackson, an award-winning fellow Scot, to make the tribute.
Now they have asked town hall chiefs at Trafford council to allow work to get started on the project - a celebration of his 25 years at the helm.
