Manchester United are serious about signing Danny Ings according to reports.

The Daily Mail suggests that Red Devils boss Louis van Gaal is ready to make a formal offer for the striker who comes out of contract with Burnley in the summer.

United have been linked with 22-year old Ings for the past few months and have now reportedly held talks with the Clarets star regarding a pre-contract agreement.

Ings will almost certainly leave Turf Moor in June but will not go for free as the Lancashire club are due a compensation fee of around £5million due to his age.
