Manchester United are preparing a bid for Eintracht Frankfurt attacker Ante Rebic.

The Independent says Rebic is a United target and alternative to Willian, of Chelsea, as Jose Mourinho pushes for late additions to boost his title bid.

The Croatia star shone at the World Cup in Russia this summer, flanking Mario Mandzukic alongside Ivan Perisic.

Rebic only just joined Eintracht Frankfurt on a permanent deal after two successful seasons on loan from Fiorentina.

The Germans stand to make an enormous profit, having only just triggered a €2m option - though he would still prove cheaper than Perisic, with Inter Milan demanding as much as £80m.
