The People says Ferguson is dropping his interest for Tottenham's Dimitar Berbatov and now weighing up a bid for Santa Cruz.

Fergie felt Berbatov would be the ideal frontman to replace injury-prone Frenchman Louis Saha and take the strike burden off Wayne Rooney.
