The Sun says United boss Jose Mourinho is considering a move for Stoke star Shaqiri.

Liverpool have been linked with a move for the Swiss winger who will be allowed to leave the relegated Potters for just £12m.

But United manager Mourinho followed Shaqiri's performances for Switzerland at the World Cup closely and has told friends how impressed he is by the player.

Shaqiri's World Cup is now over after Switzerland's round of 16 defeat to Sweden.
