Manchester United are ready to bid for Real Madrid midfielder Toni Kroos.

The Sun says the Red Devils had the 2014 World Cup winner in their grasp in 2013/14 but Kroos opted for a move to Real Madrid instead.

But Jose Mourinho is ready to try and sign Kroos, 27, again as The Special One looks to build his team again for next season.

The move for the former Bayern Munich midfielder comes as doubts continue to surface over Antoine Griezmann's £100million move to Old Trafford.

The Atletico Madrid playmaker is wanted by United but Griezmann is waiting to see if they make it into the Champions League next season.
