Manchester United midfielder Michael Carrick has welcomed their season opener at Everton.
The fixture computer has thrown up a tough start to the season, at Goodison Park, and television coverage means the Reds must wait until Monday night before getting going again.
"In some ways, it's good to start the season on a Monday night because there are internationals the week before so it gives us an extra few days to prepare and get players back and focus on the first game," he explained to manutd.com. "But, on the flipside, you want to get up and running as quickly as possible. That's how it is, though, and we'll just get on with it.
"It's always a tough game against Everton and a difficult place to go. We've had some good results there and some indifferent ones, but we'll be ready and raring to go."
