Manchester United players were disappointed not to meet with US President Barack Obama during their tour of the White House.

On Wednesday night the team beat the MLS All-Stars -- including former United star David Beckham -- 4-0 at the Red Bull Arena in Harrison, New Jersey.

Striker Michael Owen tweeted, "Had a tour around The White House. Unfortunately never met The President as he was locked in meetings but a great experience all the same."

Teammate Federico Macheda went further, the Manchester Evening News reported, tweeting that missing Obama was, "So disappointing."
