Man Utd players delighted with Mourinho's Carrington makeover

Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho wants his players to step out of the shadows of the clib's past glories.

The squad is delighted with the way Mourinho has redecorated parts of the Carrington training centre with images of their double Cup success last season.

A Carrington insider told the Mirror: “It's not a question of airbrushing Ferguson and his players out of sight at the training ground, definitely not.

“The pictorial evidence of Fergie's time here is still very much around the place in the academy buildings and the public areas.

“But, especially, in the areas used by his staff and players, Jose Mourinho is slowly changing that.

“There are pictures of Marcus Rashford, Jesse Lingard, Paul Pogba and Anthony Martial enjoying winning trophies where once it might have been Giggs, Scholes, Beckham and players from another era.

“It has a fresh feel and that's down to the manager.

“It's clear he wants to create his own successful chapter here and he's determined he wants his players to see they are creating their own history as well.

“You can tell he has great respect for what has been achieved in the past at this club.

“But he doesn't want that to overshadow the future."
