Manchester United are planning to outbid Tottenham for Espanyol goalkeeper Carlos Kameni.

The Daily Mail says United's chief European scout Martin Ferguson has made a couple of checks on the 24-year-old and is interested.

Spurs believed they had a deal agreed in principle - although manager Juande Ramos was not too happy for that interest to be revealed - yet United's move has turned Kameni's head.

As much as a move to White Hart Lane would make more sense, alongside a manager who knows him well, his management team IMG would like a switch to Old Trafford.
