Manchester United are ready to open new contract talks with Antonio Valencia.

The Mirror says United supremo Ed Woodward wants to tie down the Ecuador international with a new deal soon.

Reliable Valencia - hailed by boss David Moyes for his display in the weekend victory over Aston Villa - has 18 months left on his current agreement.

He could look for a transfer at the end of this season if the terms on offer at United are not right, but the Old Trafford giants want to keep him.
