Manchester United are weighing up a bid for Swansea City left-back Neil Taylor.
The Mirror says United manager Sir Alex Ferguson had hoped to land Leighton Baines, but has been put off by Everton's £20million asking price for the England star.
Although buying Baines has not been written-off by United, Taylor - who played for Great Britain at this summer's Olympics - has emerged as an alternative target at his position.
The £5million-rated youngster missed just two Premier League games for Swansea last season and has developed into a solid left-back.
