Man Utd pair ready for big South Wales derby

Cardiff City's on-loan Manchester United goalkeeper Tom Heaton hopes to face teammate Fabien Brandy, on-loan at Swansea, in tonight's Carling Cup clash.

"It's a funny situation," Heaton told the Western Mail. "A couple of years ago you could never have foreseen the two of us both being out in Wales and playing against one another.

"But it's great for both of us to be getting experience and playing games.

"Fixtures don't really come much bigger than this either so we are both looking forward to it."

Brandy added: "It's not exactly an every day thing having two Manchester United boys in a South Wales derby.

"It comes along once in a lifetime and this is the chance for me and Tom.

"It's an interesting situation for us. But it's always good to have a bit of rivalry, both on a club and an individual level.

"Whether it's a joke or real rivalry, it spurs you on. And, whichever team you are playing for, you have to be the winners."
