Former Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson raked in £2 million last year.
The Sunday World says Ferguson was paid more than £2m by the Old Trafford club between October 2013 and June of last year, according to the club's latest accounts.
The remarkable figures have emerged after United posted their latest financial report at Companies House in the UK, with Ferguson's role as a United ambassador ensuring he is still earning huge money despite his decision to step down as the club's manager in the summer of 2013.
Fellow United ambassador Bobby Charlton earned £105,000 for his role at the club, according to the accounts, which also confirmed the money paid out to get rid of manager David Moyes and his staff.
The move to hire Moyes turned out to be a huge mistake on and off the pitch, with the cost of ending the contracts of Scottish tactician and his staff coming to almost £4.3m.
