Man Utd owners to hold manager talks on Friday

Manchester United owners the Glazers will fly to England on Friday to hold talks regarding the search for a new manager.

The Guardian is of the belief that United's executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward will meet with the Glazers, led by Joel, as they begin the pursuit of a replacement for David Moyes who was sacked on Tuesday.

The Red Devils reportedly have Holland national team manager Louis van Gaal at the top of their list and the meeting has been put in place to discuss how they will go about luring him to Old Trafford.

This summer's World Cup provides a tricky stumbling block for United to navigate as van Gaal will be off-limits for negotiations from May 7 when he enters his first training camp prior to the June/July tournament in Brazil.

Reports earlier this week suggested that Woodward was set to meet van Gaal in his Portuguese villa in the Algarve but it has also been reported that he has waited to speak with the Glazers before making any moves on the former Barcelona and Bayern Munich boss.
