Manchester United outcast David de Gea fears his dream move to Real Madrid is off.
The Sunday Mirror says De Gea fears that Louis van Gaal will wreck his Euro 2016 dream if he isn't allowed to quit Manchester United this week.
Van Gaal has insisted he hopes to bring De Gea back into his first-team fold once the transfer window closes at 6pm on Tuesday and Real are forced to put their interest on ice.
But the 24-year-old is aware Van Gaal has left a trail of goalkeeping casualties throughout a coaching career that has taken him from Holland to England via Spain and Germany.
De Gea knows his bid to become Spain's undisputed No.1, ahead of next summer's European Championship Finals in France, will be doomed if Van Gaal retains Sergio Romero as first choice.
