Manchester United have made an approach to Udinese for Kwadwo Asamoah and Mehdi Benatia. Sky Sport Italia says United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has sent his representatives to Udine to begin talks for both Asamoah and Benatia.

However, Udinese are eager to keep hold of defender Benatia and have set a €20m price-tag on his head. But they are prepared to sell Asamoah - at the right price.
