Manchester United have opened an official office in London!
The Telegraph says commercial director Richard Arnold is looking to move staff to London to co-ordinate a new global sponsorship programme designed to boost revenues beyond the record £245 million turnover announced last week.
One member of staff has already moved south from Old Trafford, with the prospect of more to follow.
United justify the move by saying that the amount of travelling needed to secure and maintain the new sponsorship arrangements makes it easier to base the team in London.
But fans still opposed to the club's ownership by the Florida-based Glazer family may question whether this is another sign that United are losing touch with their Manchester roots.
