Manchester United assistant boss Carlos Queiroz has slammed the junior coaching in England.

Queiroz said: "Youth coaching in England is a real disgrace. Portuguese coaches have greater technical quality."

The former Real Madrid boss should know what he is talking about.

He coached Portugal to victory in both the 1989 and 1991 World Youth Championship - their so-called Golden Generation.

Queiroz has also been behind the purchase of United's young players like Cristiano Ronaldo and Nani.

He added: "If the English FA told me to choose between technology or bringing in Portuguese youth coaches, I'd opt for the latter."
