Manchester United No2 Mike Phelan paid tribute to Paul Scholes after his matchwinning performance at Wolves.

Scholes managed to score the only goal of the game at Molineux.

Phelan said: "It was a terrific performance from Scholesy. It was a tight game, the ball was bouncing everywhere, it was in the air quite a lot but Scholesy brings a calmness to a football match now and again and now you can see that occasionally he pops up with a goal and we spoke to him there at the end, last week he missed an opportunity like that when he blasted it over the bar, so obviously even at his ripe old age, he's learning from his mistakes."
