Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard has expressed his belief that Manchester United will need to sign a new striker in order to turn their fortunes around.
While United did put in an improved performance against Chelsea on Monday night, they still failed to find the back of the net in a 0-0 draw and it is already the seventh time that the Red Devils have fired a blank this season.
Anfield legend Gerrard followed the United-Chelsea draw closely for BT Sport and stated that Louis van Gaal's side will need to purchase a new striker in January in order to reinvigorate their flailing campaign.
Gerrard said: "Manchester United still need something for me. I think they need an extra striker because there's still too much pressure on Wayne Rooney.
"Martial is very young, Depay is very young, I think they need an extra striker to come and help Wayne Rooney with the goal burden."
