Manchester United are believed to be nearing a deal for Mario Mandzukic.

<i>The Sun</i> reports that the Red Devils are closing in on the Croatia international who is being tipped to leave Atletico Madrid this summer.

Despite being heavily linked with Napoli star Gonzalo Higuain, United are also showing significant interest in £36million-rated Mandzukic who has fallen out with Atletico boss Diego Simeone.

Mandzukic, 29, joined Atleti from Bayern Munich last summer and scored 20 goals in all competitions in his debut campaign in Spain.
