Manchester United could name Louis van Gaal as new manager this week. The Mirror says while a contract is yet to be signed the Dutch national coach has agreed to succeed David Moyes as boss.
Holland boss van Gaal is understood to have held two meetings with United officials and now accepted an offer to take over as manager after the World Cup.
Van Gaal and the Dutch FA are keen for any agreement with United to be concluded before they begin their World Cup preparations, with the squad due to meet up for the first time on May 7.
It is said van Gaal is keen to minimise any distraction that could affect Holland's chances in Brazil, which is likely to speed up confirmation of an agreement between himself and United.
