Manchester United attacking midfielder Juan Mata has urged his team to perform better for the sake of their supportive fans.
United's terrible winless run was extended to six games after they succumbed to a disappointing 2-1 home loss at the hands of Norwich City on Saturday.
While there were some sections of the fans who voiced their displeasure at the team following the final whistle, majority of the crowd at Old Trafford were supportive and now Mata has urged his side to repay the faith of the fans by putting in improved performances.
Mata said: "We feel deeply sorry for the fans. I think they're incredible, so we have to do better for them. Of course we're disappointed.
"It's another very difficult day for us, but the only thing we can do now is stick together and hope that we get the win in the next game because we need it.
"We need to win as soon as possible. It's very frustrating not to win, especially at home. We should win at Old Trafford if we want to be successful, but we haven't done it."
