Man Utd monitoring Pique blow-up at Barcelona
Europe's biggest clubs - including Manchester United - are monitoring Gerard Pique's blow-up at Barcelona this week.
Pique was dropped by Barca coach Pep Guardiola for victory at Champions League opponents Bayer Leverkusen, with both the Catalan and Madrid press agreeing it was for "technical reasons".
United boss Sir Alex Ferguson admits he never wanted to lose Pique and remains a big fan of the centre-half. With concerns over the fitness of Rio Ferdinand and Nemanja Vidic, a new centre-half is on the agenda this summer for Ferguson and the prospect of bringing back Pique will be explored.
The defender also keeps in touch with several of his former United teammates, including Wayne Rooney, who would love to see Pique back at Old Trafford.The former United defender was blamed for defeat at Osasuna and it emerged yesterday that his advisers have been urged by Barca to speak with Pique about his behaviour.

Are you an idiot? I'm pretty sure Pique had a buy back clause in his contract if Barca came calling. What was United to do keep a player who wanted to go??? No doubt Pique is world class. Besides we wouldn't have wanted a Fabregas type scenario were United was accused of holding him hostage like Barcelon did to Arsenal. Whats funny is Barcelona sold them because they didn't need them them or want them, yet when these english clubs help them develop into world class players then Barcelona literally comes along and pinches them back for peanuts.

Barca fan stop insulting SAF he was not responsible of some of these idiots comments. We regret letting pique go but saying that we do not respect him and abusing the world's best manager is not the right thing to do. If guardiola had united's squad in the premier league or laliga he would have been 3rd in the la liga and 7/8th in the premier league. Anyways we have jones,smelling,evans and lots of over young centre backs at united waiting for their chance. What we need more is a central midfielder like gotze or eriksen and a right back like isla or clyne. There is absolutely no chance of pique coming to united and this is a silly story released by the press. Its disgraceful how el mundo deportivo(barca' newspaper) and marca(madrid's newspapers) unsettle players from foreign leagues-The english press never claims a deal is done until it is done unlike marca which reported RVP was joining madrid and el mundo deportivo which for seasons claimed fabregas would be a barcelona player and were proved right only this season.
