Manchester United are set to face Champions League opponents Real Sociedad tonight without Rio Ferdinand and Nemanja Vidic.

Both defensive stalwarts sat out Saturday's draw against Southampton with minor knocks and David Moyes had hoped both would recover in time.

But they were missing for yesterday's final training session before tonight's game.
