Man Utd millionaires face Burnley's 1970s-style away dressing room

Manchester United's millionaires are in for a culture shock when they visit Burnley's Turf Moor in the first week of the new season.

United boss Sir Alex Ferguson had a moan about the state of some clubs' changing facilities in April - notably at Everton, Fulham and Portsmouth.

So the United boss will not be thrilled to hear the ones at Turf Moor have hardly changed since the early 1970s.

Chief executive Paul Fletcher, a former Clarets star, said: "The dressing rooms are exactly the same as they were when I played for Burnley 35 years ago.

"In the long term we are looking to relocate the dressing rooms to another stand and improve the facilities that way.

"So we are not looking to turn the current ones into palaces.

"We are within the criteria for size and shape of the dressing rooms and we had a few Premier League clubs here last season anyway.

"By the time we play United in our first home game, they will probably just have a lick of paint and a couple of new light bulbs."
