Man Utd midfielder Schweinsteiger eyeing increasing contribution for Germany

Manchester United midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger is eyeing a bigger role in Germany's upcoming games at Euro2016.

The 31-year-old made a 90th-minute substitute appearance and scored an injury-time goal in Germany's 2-0 win against Ukraine on Sunday.

Schweinsteiger who ran the length of the pitch to put Mesut Ozil's pinpoint cross into the back of the net, revealed that he is still not fit enough to last 90 minutes, but is keen ton have an increasing input for the Germans in France.

"It's just incredible," Schweinsteiger told ARD after his side's opening game of the tournament.

"After all the injuries something like this happens. I can't play 90 or 120 minutes yet but I'm feeling like I can play.

"I feel really good. I think if I stay healthy I'll be able to play. I hope I can play some more."
