Nemanja Matic has stressed how important it was for Romelu Lukaku to get himself on the scoresheet in Manchester United's 2-0 win over Huddersfield Town in the fifth round of the FA Cup.
The Belgian scored both goals in the match, bringing his season tally to 21. However, the 24-year-old has scored just twice in the league since Christmas. And Matic is confident Lukaku can now kick on for the rest of the season.
"He is our first striker and he is very important to us," continued Matic. "It's very important for his confidence that he is scoring goals.
"He is a great striker, very strong and he is still young and I am sure he will be important for us until the end of the season.
"I am happy we have him in the team and, today, he scored two goals which is what the striker is there to do and he did exactly that."
