Manchester United midfielder Jesse Lingard says Tottenham winger Andros Townsend's England heroics are an inspiration.
Lingard is part of the England Under-21 squad that was at Wembley to watch Townsend score a stunning debut goal against Montenegro.
"We all went to the Montenegro game," said the Manchester United youngster, who is on loan at Birmingham City. "It was massive for us to see Andros do so well.
"It gives us confidence that we can get there as well. To see him do as well as that is really good to see. It makes us want to do more and get into the senior squad.
"It is good to know the opportunities are there and that Roy Hodgson likes young players.
"I know some of the lads in the senior side.
"If you train with them day-in, day-out you get used to the tempo of it and then when you go into games you will be all right."
