Manchester United midfielder Juan Mata believes Real Madrid cannot be written off in the LaLiga title race.

Mata, a former Castilla player, knows his old club is 19 points behind LaLiga leaders Barcelona.

He told Radio Marca: "FC Barcelona is doing very well and playing great football.

"For Valencia I am very happy about their current situation, Atlético de Madrid is competing as usual and Real Madrid is not going through a good run of results.

"But they never surrender and will fight to the end on all fronts."
