Manchester United midfielder Darron Gibson admits he could have left on-loan last season.
Last term was the breakthrough season for Gibson; Sir Alex is fond of his abilities and he put them into practice with eight goals in 38 appearances.
"At the start of last season the gaffer asked me if I wanted to go out on loan and I said no," Gibson told manutd.com.
"It took a while for me to get a game and at times I wondered if I'd made the right decision but when I did play I felt I played well.
"Getting picked for the Champions League quarter-final against Bayern Munich - and scoring - was a big boost so from there I never thought about going out on loan this season. This is where I want to play my football for the rest of my career."
