Manchester United midfielder Michael Carrick collected a hamstring strain in victory over Sunderland.
After the game, manager Sir Alex Ferguson confirmed defender Rafael had missed only his second Premier League game of the season with a tight hamstring, which was also the complaint that forced Carrick off at half-time.
United cruised to a 3-1 win on the day.
