Man Utd midfielder Carrick asks Fergie: What could I do?

Manchester United midfielder Michael Carrick has ducked the Steven Gerrard row sparked by Sir Alex Ferguson's new book.

Fergie says Liverpool star Gerrard has had a more prominent international career through displaying greater bravado.

He feels Carrick should have pushed himself more.

But the midfielder, 32, said: "What am I meant to do?

"I just play how I play and see where that takes me."
