Manchester United midfielder Michael Carrick has ducked the Steven Gerrard row sparked by Sir Alex Ferguson's new book.

Manchester United midfielder Michael Carrick has ducked the Steven Gerrard row sparked by Sir Alex Ferguson's new book.

Fergie says Liverpool star Gerrard has had a more prominent international career through displaying greater bravado.

He feels Carrick should have pushed himself more.

But the midfielder, 32, said: “What am I meant to do?

“I just play how I play and see where that takes me.”
