Bolton Wanderers are ready to sell defender Gary Cahill this month.

The Mirror says Bolton are prepared to cash in on star defender Cahill to boost Owen Coyle's transfer kitty.

Wanderers are understood to be offering Cahill to their Premier League rivals and have proposed selling him to Manchester City and Manchester United.

City appear to be their best hope of snapping up Cahill and Sir Alex Ferguson has ruled out spending big on a defender during the transfer window.

Bolton hope to raise up to £15million from the sale of Cahill, who cost £5million from Aston Villa two years ago.

The cash would go to Coyle to fund his rebuilding work at the Reebok and the Scot is set to appointed in the next 24 hours.
