Manchester United are preparing a summer bid for Sporting Lisbon winger Carlos Mane.
The Mail on Sunday says Mane who can play on either flank and through the middle, is regarded as the Portuguese club's best natural talent since Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo, who was signed by United from Sporting for £12m in 2003.
Sporting would want at least £20m for Mane and about the same for another United target, midfielder William Carvalho.
Such sums are well within the budget of United who in net terms have a budget of £200m to revitalise their ageing and under-strength squad.
