Man Utd make hard work of Seoul victory

Manchester United twice came from behind before defeating FC Seoul 3-2 on Friday at the Anyang Stadium. It was the Red Devils' third game of their tour of Asia and Montenegro forward Dejan Damjanovic scored twice before the interval either side of a Wayne Rooney leveller.

But two second half efforts from Federico Macheda and United substitute Dimitar Berbatov tipped the game in the visitor's favour.

Reds boss Sir Alex Ferguson described the game as "open and entertaining".

"I enjoyed it," he said. "Good pace, good tempo and good intensity. It was the type of game we probably need now.

"I am pleased with the result and with the quality of the match."

"The goal Macheda scored was excellent," said Ferguson to the club's official website. "The lad has a real chance.

"His movement is very good and he does well when he gets onto the shoulder of the last defender. He took his goal very well. It's pleasing to see our strikers scoring - obviously the main players are Rooney, Berbatov and Owen and I'm very comfortable with that. But if Macheda continues his progress then it gives me a big advantage. An extra player like that will do us the world of good."

Park Ji-Sung, United's Korean winger, was the star attraction and entered the match in the 73rd minute to deafening applause.

Park said he was "pleased to stand before Korean fans in the United strip for the first time".

Fans had cheered on and chanted Park's name as the giant screens showed him seated on the bench.
