Manchester United are preparing a bid for Aston Villa captain Ron Vlaar.
The Daily Express says United boss Louis van Gaal will make a £6m bid to bring Vlaar to Old Trafford in January.
Van Gaal knows Vlaar well having worked with him with the Dutch national team and also likes the fact that the defender would not need time to adapt to the Premier League.
United considered making a bid over the summer only for Aston Villa to resist a move, but the Old Trafford outfit are set to redouble their efforts in January.
