The People says United have missed out on the signing of Bruno Gomes after he announced his move to Internacional.
The young Brazilian striker, who plays for youth club Desportivo Brasil - a club who have a partnership agreement with United - has visited United's training ground on a number of occasions during the past two years.
However, while a move to Old Trafford after his 18th birthday had been mooted - Brazilian players cannot leave their homeland until they turn 18 - he has instead announced that he has signed a three-year deal to join Internacional.
