Manchester United legend Edwin van der Sar has explained why he's taken an off-the-field role at Ajax.
Van der Sar, who quit playing two years ago, took a Masters degree in sports management, enabling him to become Ajax's director of marketing.
He explained to the Sunday Express: "Frank de Boer is the manager. Alongside him are Dennis Bergkamp and Wim Jong. Marc Overmars is director of football. Jaap Stam is joining next season as an assistant coach. I'm director of marketing.
"It's enjoyable, completely different from what I've been used to. It's a case of working from 9am until 6pm or later. You thought as a player you had it tough but it's nothing compared to working in an office doing a proper job."
