Paul Scholes is likely to reject Oldham Athletic's proposal to take over the management of the club.
The Daily Mail reports that 40-year old former Manchester United midfielder Scholes will kindly turn down the Latics' offer to take over at Boundary Park.
League One Oldham lost Lee Johnson to division rivals Barnsley during the week and there were plenty of reports suggesting chairman Simon Corney would call on his good friend to take the reins.
However, Scholes is currently juggling TV punditry with BT Sports and ITV and a regular newspaper column with The Independent, making it tricky for him to take the role at this point in time.
The Sportsmail report did suggest though that Scholes has not ruled out taking the job at his boyhood club in the future.
Oldham currently sit ninth on the third tier table, two points out of the play-off positions, while ex-boss Johnson's new club Barnsley are down in 16th in what was a shock move by the young manager.
