Man Utd legend Scholes impressed by Barcelona methods

Manchester United legend Paul Scholes admits he's impressed by what they're doing at Barcelona.

Scholes, who made 676 appearances for United, scoring 150 goals, played his last game in the 3-1 Champions League final defeat to Barcelona at Wembley last May.

It was a hard way for Scholes to end his successful career, but the former England international said United must learn from Barcelona if they are to be crowned European champions again.

"There's definitely something over there that they [Barcelona] are doing right - their football and the way it should be played," Scholes told Red News.

"I think first and foremost it comes from the manager, Pep Guardiola, who was a very similar player to the likes of Xavi and [Andres] Iniesta and that's transitioned through to his team."
